We really enjoy reading the "If You Give A Mouse..." books by Laura Joffe Numeroff. There's also "If You Give a Pig a Pancake," which is good too.
Not sure how many books she's written, but it's always If you give (a creature) something, then they'll want something else, then something else, and so on and so forth.
Landon is in 2nd grade and he reads them to us, so of course, they're on a 2nd grade reading level. The latest, "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies," has a Christmas theme to it. Perfect for this time of year.
